During this Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy called by Pope Francis, Bishop LeVoir has asked that this Holy Thursday liturgy be a “Liturgy of Mercy.” We all need the peace offered by our Merciful Father. During this “Liturgy of Mercy,” we are especially asked to remember and pray for the victims and survivors of sexual abuse by priests.
The grave violation of human dignity caused by the sexual abuse of minors by priests has wounded deeply this diocese, as well as the Body of Christ, the Church. To bring healing, reconciliation, and hope, we all are called to pray for victims and survivors and for all the people of the Diocese of New Ulm.
Bishop LeVoir has written a message for this "Holy Thursday of Mercy" which will be read before the liturgy at each parish throughout the Diocese. There will also be prayers of the faithful with this focus, and a special "Prayer for Healing" which will be prayed after the prayers of the faithful. Pastors and their delegates can find these resources on our password-protected Parish Administration page by clicking on the "Pastor Resources" logo.
